After my trip to Hawaii ended, I held on to this vacation as much as possible. After plucking each lei from the trash after the luau, I threw them into my bag, determined to bring them home. They bounced back surprisingly well, but after about a week I noticed some bending of the petals.
Unfortunately, when I had an idea, I finally looked to throw the lilies in the trash. A while ago I saw a fun DIY for making a rose body scrub and thought I might as well recycle my purple buds and make it! I quickly started plucking the petals from the string and got to DIY. You will love this body scrub… You will hate this body scrub… You will love this body scrub!
Take simple ingredients you already have at home and it’s perfect for exfoliating in the shower. Try rubbing one of the petals on your skin and see how it reacts (for me, I wore the thread all night without problems, so I figured I wasn’t allergic), you don’t want to do a whole bunch of scrubbing. and realize it itches! If you are reusing a lei like I did, start plucking new petals from it until you have a large handful. Pour the sugar, oil and petals into a food processor. Pulse until the petals are all broken and scattered in the sugar. Remove the scrub and keep it in a container with a lid. During your next shower, rub your hands, feet, and body for a smooth, exfoliated feeling!
