The last thing I do is add food coloring. It’s a good idea to wear food-safe gloves if you’re going to do dark colors. Flatten the marshmallow disk and add some color using toothpicks. I like to use specially formulated Wilton or American coloring gels for cake decorating. If you gently knead your favorite soft dough, you will see colored lines appear. Cook until firm in color.
If a whole batch of marshmallows needs the same color, you can add color to the melted marshmallow.
Ready for your favorite use. I like to use a silicon rolling pin with a generous amount of sugar. Some people apply a little cornstarch or even vegetable oil to their face to prevent breakouts.
